This 2-day Handgun Instructor Certification course (just 4–5 hours each day) turns safe, experienced shooters into confident instructors who can teach beginner and permit classes the right way. The main focus is on what you’ll do every single class: spotting unsafe actions fast, fixing common gun malfunctions safely, and stepping in to stop problems before anyone gets hurt—all while keeping every student and bystander out of danger.
Over the two short days, you’ll learn how handguns work, quick fixes for jams, simple ways to teach adults, clear range commands, and one-on-one coaching tips. We’ll go over Minnesota carry laws and use-of-force rules from an instructor’s point of view, plus easy lesson plans you can actually use. Most of the time is spent on real range safety: catching muzzle sweeps and finger-on-trigger mistakes right away, safely clearing a jammed gun while keeping it pointed downrange, and calmly guiding nervous new shooters so nothing goes wrong. By the end of Day 2, after some live-fire practice, teaching drills, and safety scenarios, you’ll earn your instructor certification and be ready to run Basic Handgun, Permit-to-Carry, and Renewal classes with safety first, every time.
